● We check on a working relationship with your veterinarian.
● Complete a home check.

We will require:

1. that all adults living in the household have given their consent to adopt an animal;
2. that you have a valid ID with a current address;
3. that you are at least 18 years of age;.
4. that all pets currently in your home are current on shots, spayed/neutered, must be annually heartworm tested, and kept on heartworm preventatives year round';

PROCESS DETAILS

Application Review: Your application will be reviewed. We try our best to respond to all applicants;   however, due to the sheer volume of applications received it is not always possible.  If your application is denied, we may not specify why an application is denied and/or which criteria were not met.

Home-Based Meet & Greet: After the application has been approved, a Home-Based Meet & Greet may be completed by a Friends of Noah representative. This is to provide the opportunity for the animal and the adopter to interact in a home-based environment and make sure it’s a good fit for both the animal and the new family.

Contract and Paperwork: If the meet and greet goes well and is deemed a good fit, we will move forward with the adoption contract. You will be given a copy of the adoption contract, as well as all appropriate veterinary records.

Adoption Donation/Fee: Friends of Noah incurs significant expenses to rescue each animal in our care. When you adopt a pet from Friends of Noah, your donation/fee not only goes toward the care of your adoptive animal but helps to make it possible for us to further our mission of rescuing other animals and placing them into forever homes. Adoption donations/fees can be made with cash or check only.

GENERAL INFORMATION

All animals listed on our website are currently available for adoption and are seeking loving, forever homes. When you are applying to adopt, please be considerate of our process, and we will do our best to communicate with you at an appropriate pace. We understand that adopting a companion can be a very exciting and emotional process, but please understand the importance of our process and respect our guidelines by recognizing the animal is not officially yours until the adoption has been approved and the contract has been signed. For this reason, we suggest you do not purchase supplies, or get any person (especially children) in your family overly excited until the home visit has been completed and the adoption contract signed. Remember, there are many factors that could affect whether or not the animal you have applied for is deemed the right fit for you, your family, and your home.

The decision to place one of our rescue animals into an adoptive home is not one that we take lightly. We do not operate on a first-come, first-served basis, as it is our goal to find the absolute best fit for both our animal and the adoptive family. We often have multiple applications for the same adoptable. We will not disclose information about other potential adopters nor will we stop accepting applications until it has officially been adopted.

In the event that the adopter is no longer able or willing to care for the adopted animal, the adopter understands that the animal MUST be returned to Friends of Noah.

All Friends of Noah rescue animals receive the following as appropriate:

● Spay/Neuter Surgery
● Heartworm Test (and treatment, if positive)
● Age-appropriate Vaccinations
● Current on Flea & Tick Preventative (Frontline Plus or equivalent)
● Microchip
● Current on Heartworm Preventative (Iverhart Plus or equivalent)
● Deworming

Please note that we are unable to make any guarantees of future health, temperament, size, or breed of your adopted animal. We do our absolute best to create safe & healthy environments for the animals while in our care. We expect adopters to do the same.
