Dan+and+Brewster.jpg

 What does a Foster do?

A foster parent provides temporary care for cats and/or dogs. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for many months.

Why Foster?

It saves lives!  Every animal in foster gets the chance for a new fur-ever home♥

Want to learn more?

Our Adoption Administrator will be happy to answer any questions!  Email Rhonda for more info.

Thank You!

10/20, Noah's News

OCTOBER 2020

As the pandemic continues, Friends of Noah continues to impact the community. We are actively working with food pantries to help those who can’t afford to feed their pets. We continue to take in foster animals and find them new homes. We are helping families with emergency vet expenses.  Our mission has never been more important!

We are seeking sponsors to assist in covering these expenses. If you know of any individual or business that is able and willing to contribute, it would certainly help the people and pets that need us the most. Many companies even ‘match’ employee donations, making your gift count twice as much! If you have any questions about how you or your company can support our missions, please email Lois@friendsofnoah-wi.org.

Thank you,

Lois Corwin
Founder of Friends of Noah, WI

Here are some before and after photos of Desi who needed emergency care. We were able to assist Desi through Noah’s Animal Fund.

HAPPY TAILS

Friends of Noah-WI is a volunteer-based Wisconsin dog and cat rescue organization. We invest in our community on many different levels. Not only do we rescue animals in critical need, but we also help change the conditions that contribute to homeless pets in the first place.

2021 Arftic Art: It is with sadness that we announce the postponement of Arftic Art 2021 due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, due to the rising number of cases in Wisconsin, the restricted number of people allowed into the Pontiac Convention Center, and the logistics with these limitations, we have decided to postpone Arftic Art until 2022. Mark your calendars for 2/19/22!

As you can see, our normally busy fundraising season has been put on hold. If you have any ideas on how Friends of Noah can hold a safe, socially distanced fundraiser, please share! Feel free to email any ideas to Dawn Espinosa.

AUGUST 2020

IN MEMORIAM

Tim Banwell, long time Friends of Noah Board Member, passed away on August 12, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tim was instrumental in getting the Rabies Clinic started and running smoothly. Tim will be remembered as a  kind, humble, thoughtful person who cared very much about animals. Our organization is better because of him. He will be missed.

BEHIND THE SCENES…

Friends of Noah has been very active behind the scenes rescuing, fostering, and adopting. We’ve also been busy providing food to pets in need through the CAFE program and providing veterinary care through Noah’s Animal Fund.

Under normal circumstances, we’d be gearing up for a busy fundraising season. However, with the health and safety of our volunteers a top priority, the COVID-19 pandemic has us looking into new ways to raise funds.

This is where YOU come in! We could use your help in ‘thinking outside the box’! Do you have an idea that could help raise funds for the animals in our community? If so, please email your ideas to Dawn Espinosa.

COMMITTEES

C.A.F.E. (Companion Animal Food Effort)

CAFE continues to make a big impact in the community. The food pantries we support are very grateful for its continued existence - especially in light of the ongoing pandemic. Want to help? Mounds, Petco, and Janesville Veterinary Clinics are all drop off points in Janesville.

UPCOMING ‘EVENTS’

We’ll be at Mounds Pet Food Warehouse on Saturday, July 25th from 11-1!

2020 Rabies Clinic: It is with sadness that the Board has decided to cancel the 2020 Rabies Clinic.    Our partners, the Rock County Public Health Department, have had to allocate all resources to their work with Covid-19 and would not be able to provide their support to the extent they normally do.  We thank them for all the support they gave us in previous years and know our volunteers understand and support them.  We are scheduled for September 2021.

FOSTER HERO

Buddy!

Buddy!

While Buddy was waiting to come to our Adoption Center, he was hit by a car and suffered a broken pelvis as well as road rash. While he heals, he will be in a small crate to limit his movement. As he heals, he is being treated with wet cat food (as the meds he is on for pain can cause constipation) and is getting treats and love!

We are grateful to our Foster Hero who is tending to Buddy during this time. It is possible he will suffer from arthritis due to his injuries as he ages. One Buddy has healed, he will be fully vaccinated and neutered and be available for adoption!

IN OTHER NEWS….

To say that 2020 has been challenging is a bit of an understatement. We hope that everyone is healthy and has stayed safe during this times. We are so grateful to our volunteers who been working behind the scenes to continue helping animals in the community.

This week, Friends of Noah is ‘re-opening’ in the Adoption Center at Mounds - Janesville! Due to inadequate space for social distancing, the Cat Room will not be open to the public at this time. We are still looking for back-up volunteers. If you can help, please message Lori Rockwell!
