12/25, Volunteer Meeting

Volunteer Meeting 

December 17, 2025  6:30 p.m.
Festival Foods, Janesville WI

President Sue Showers led the meeting.  Other Board members in attendance were: Emily Dykstra, Christina Zink, and Rhonda Karlen.  Julie Geen, new volunteer, introduced herself.             

Committee Reports

• SAFE  / Saving Animals through Focused Education:  Mark Boeche 

• No report as Mark not in attendance 

• Sue mentioned there will be more presentations planned for 2026

• CAFÉ  / Companion Animal Feeding Effort: Shiela Lund

• Several food drives going on in December

  • Humane Holidays

• Badger Vet Clinic - supports CAFE 

• Milton Vet Clinic - supports the Milton Food Pantry

• Noah’s Animal Fund / Rhonda Karlen 

• Pitbull with TPLO surgery / NAF $1000 

Animal Update:   

• Cats

• Several cats available 

• December adoptions have been slow

• New intakes are on hold

• Dogs: Sue 

• Sophie and Scout will need to be adopted together / this will be a tough home to find 

• Erlene has a meet and greet this weekend. 

• Coco:  10 month old spunky Aussie doodle (?) available

 Treasurer Report / Christina Zink: 

• Adoption Fees:  $1213.28

• Donations (including Mutts & Meows):  $8354.68

• Donations:  $7082.18  (includes Mutts & Meows) 

• Foster Vet Fees:  $2131.25

• Grants:  Waiting to hear on BHCCU submission

Still looking for someone interested in writing grants 

Events:  

• Humane Holidays through 12/24 

• 4/19:  Kitten Shower at Timber Hill Winery 

• 7/18:  Pars for Paws 

• Oct:  Wineo Bingo 

• Trivia Night - Date Unknown 

• Events Committee: 

• Looking for additional volunteers 

Misc:

• Rescue Pack

• April will pick up on Saturday 

• Can only be used for fosters unless explicit permission given
