Foster

Friends of Noah's foster parents provide temporary care for cats and dogs in Rock County. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for many months.

Fostering is flexible enough for most lifestyles and Friends of Noah will custom-match the animals to each foster home. By offering your time, energy and home to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home.

Unfortunately, there are always more animals in need than fosters, so we are constantly looking for good foster candidates.  Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions for consideration.

If you are interested in learning more about fostering for Friends of Noah, please complete this application indicating your preference.  One of our foster coordinators will get in touch with you to explore the opportunity!

Fundraising Coordinator

Do you love to organize events? As a non-profit animal rescue, Friends of Noah holds events (small and large) throughout the year to connect with our followers and raise money for the organization.

This person(s) will:

  • Raise awareness of the organizations work, goals, and financial needs.

  • Organize activities to raise funds and/or solicit monetary donations for Friends of Noah.

  • Work with the Board of Directors and Marketing Manager to develop these activities.

Respite Care Provider

Want to help the animals but aren't sure about making a commitment to fostering? Be a Respite Care provider! Respite Care provides short-term assistance to our fosters who need to go out of town.

All you need to do is provide love and shelter. Friends of Noah will provide food, toys, crates, and all that is necessary.

Interested in being a Cat Respite Care Provider? Please fill out this application. Those interested in being a Canine Respite Care Provider should fill out this application.

Laundry

Yes, even a rescue has laundry needs!

The Adoption Center has reusable bedding that needs to be laundered (washed and dried) on a weekly basis. In a typical week, this averages to be one load of laundry.

Laundry is picked up from Mounds-Janesville and returned when completed.

’Dirty’ laundry is kept upstairs in a laundry basket. Once clean, laundry is taken back to Mounds and placed on the shelves.

Transport Drivers

Do you have a reliable method of transportation? Auto insurance? Friends of Noah could use your help!

Animal Transport:

  • Transfer rescue animals (cats and dogs) from high-kill shelters to local foster homes.

  • Take rescue animals (cats/dogs) to veterinary or other appointments

  • Ability to lift animals into a vehicle a huge plus.

  • This person(s) will work closely our Canine and Feline Intake Coordinators.

General Transport

  • Pick up large quantities of pet food and other items for fosters and/or CAFE programs

  • Comfortable traveling to the greater Chicago area is a plus!

  • Truck and trailer are not required (but helpful!) A U-Haul will be provided as needed.
